Live State of the Union fact check Tuesday courtesy of Politifact and the crowd
Politifact, best known for the so very awesome Truth-o-Meter, have successfully reached their funding goal to live fact check President Obama’s State of the Union address and the GOP response scheduled to take place Tuesday.
The campaign hit its goal Thursday, according to the campaign’s Kickstarter campaign page. With three days to spare at the time this article was published, more than 600 backers contributed about $16,000 to make it happen.
Extra money raised after meeting the initial goal will go toward fact checking presidential candidates ahead of the 2016 election.
This is Politifact’s first Kickstarter campaign, according to the website.
